A bed is much the same. After all, we do not change our bedrooms like jackets,
we look at the bedrooms being designed today, because chances are they will still look much the same five years from now.
Lots of wood. Beige. Olive. Calm shades of grey.
We look at beds, their covers and textures, curtains, cedside tables, accessories.
Because your new bedding needs to look beautiful in your bedroom, not only in our photoshoot.
But interiors are not the only place I look for colour - I also pay attention to what we wear.
Which colours are appearing in capsule wardrobes? What do we want to put on? What makes us feel calm? What lifts our mood?
Right now, I see Navy everywhere. And I am already thinking about how much I would love to see it in the 2027 Bedroommood collection.
Because a colour we first welcome into our wardrobe often finds its way into our homes soon afterwards.
This is where our architect, Rūta, is always by our side.
And I am very grateful to her for it.
I can fall in love with a colour. Rūta sees more – not a small piece of fabric lying on a table, but the entire bedroom.
The wood. The wall. The bed. The light. The other colours around it.
We usually order samples of six to eight new colours.
A handful of small fabric swatches arrives.
And from those tiny pieces, we have to decide what will be lying on your bed six months later.
It sounds a little mad when I put it like that.
